December 16, 2022: First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip to the city on December 15. The latest meeting of the working group on Taganrog's urban revitalization program was held under his chairmanship.


The central issue was Taganrog streetcar system's renovation. Rostov Oblast Deputy Governor Alexander Skryabin, Taganrog City Manager Mikhail Solonitsin and Vice President of Sinara Group Yury Osintsev expressed their opinion on the reconstruction status of the depot, the proper functioning of stop displays and in-tram payment system.

The working group also considered the issues of building a new emergency hospital, the improvement of Dubki Grove, the construction and commissioning of a new hotel on Ulitsa Portovaya, and the modernization of the city's water supply and wastewater disposal system.


"The city is changing. I think that by the 325th anniversary of Taganrog, which will be celebrated next year, new public spaces will appear, and we will be proud of them," said Andrey Yatskin.

Chairman of Federation Council Committee on the Rules of Procedure and Parliamentary Governance Vyacheslav Timchenko, Chairman of Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Inna Svyatenko, a number of federal and regional deputy ministers, as well as representatives of various departments and companies joined the meeting online.
