July 1, 2022: the 7th European Geography Olympiad (EGEO) was held online in the city of Belgrade, Serbia on June 24-30. It consisted of theoretical, practical and multimedia rounds. The program also featured the contest of science posters and cultural showcase. All the tasks required English language proficiency.
Russia was represented by three teams, which camped on the premises of the training center "Computeria" (Tver Oblast). The participants were performing the EGEO tasks under the mentorship of Moscow State University staff.
The graduate of Taganrog School No. 10 Denis Pervykh won a silver medal as a member of the Russian team. Earlier he triumphed at the final stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad.
That was not the first international achievement of Denis Pervykh, as he had won a bronze medal at the 6th European Geography Olympiad in 2021.
