February 15, 2024: A fleet of new electric-powered buses will soon be operating on the streets of Taganrog city.
Yesterday, Rostov Oblast governor Vasily Golubev, city manager Andrey Fateev and other officials took a ride on an all-electric bus in Taganrog. The city's area transit authority received the first ten environmentally clean buses within the framework of the
municipal revitalization program, national project "Safe Quality Roads" and regional project "Transit System Development."
Today the 100% electric buses started operating on city streets in the test mode. This addition to the area transit fleet will be used in bus services #78 and #79, representing a step toward Taganrog's clean future. The vehicles are equipped with air-conditioning, contactless fare payment, video surveillance cameras, USB phone charging ports and an information board. Four charging stations for the electric-powered buses have been commissioned.
More electric buses are expected to arrive. These high-efficiency vehicles are an investment in clean air, in healthy neighborhoods, and mobility for residents and visitors of Taganrog.
