German football posters exhibition opens in Taganrog

February 13, 2018: German football posters exhibition "One ball, a thousand stories. Football in Germany", dedicated to the history and present of the German football opened on February 8 at Taganrog's Tchaikovsky Memorial House. The event was organized and supported by Goethe-Institut, German Football Museum in Dortmund, Taganrog Foreign Relations Office, Taganrog Association of German language teachers, Taganrog Football Federation and Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College.

The guest of honor, Chairman of the Taganrog Football Federation Vladimir Snisarenko hosted the exhibition's opening ceremony, cutting the symbolic red ribbon. Among other invitees were people known for their contribution to the development of football in Taganrog — veterans of the local FC "Torpedo". The Merited master of sports in football, Vladimir S. Kozlov, told about the three USSR vs. GDR matches back in 1955, where several FC Torpedo Taganrog players participated as part of the national team. All three games — in the cities of Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz), Jena and Cottbus — were won by the Russians.
