The local government of the City is represented by the Head of Local Government (Mayor), the City Council (Duma), and The City Hall (Administration).

Nikolay D. Fedyanin was elected Head of Local Government and Mayor of Taganrog in 2003, and was reelected in 2007.

Mr. Fedyanin was born on November 19, 1956 in the town of Zadubrovka, Kemerovo Oblast. He graduated from The Rostov Agricultural Machinery College, Foundry Machines and Techologies Faculty in 1978.

After his graduation, Nikolay Fedyanin started his career with Taganrog Combine-Harvester Factory. In 1991 he was named Director of Forge and Foundry Shop. In 1996 became Vice President and Commercial Director of the Taganrog Combine-Harvester Factory Corp..

From March 1998 until January 2001, Mr. Fedyanin was Deputy Director General of Taganrog Automobile Factory TAGAZ, part of Doninvest Finance & Industry Group.

On January 30, 2001 Nikolay Fedyanin was appointed Head of Taganrog Local Government and on June 29, 2003 he was elected Mayor of the City. After serving his first term, Nikolay Fedyanin was reelected Mayor of Taganrog on December 2, 2007 by a great majority of the ballots for a second five-year term.
