April 8, 2022: yesterday Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev and the First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip to the city.
Accompanied by the management of "Sinara - Urban Transport Solutions Taganrog", Governor Golubev and Andrey Yatskin inspected a large section of the tram route #2 and the tram depot. According to the contractor, 10 km (about 6.2 mi) of rails have been laid along the route. Although the works have not been finished yet, the contractor announced their completion in late April.
The second phase of
Taganrog streetcar system's renovation implies 33.6 (about 20.9 mi) km of rails and reinforced concrete blocks, overhauling of the tram depot and five traction substations, procurement of 50 low-floor trams, and creation of 76 new tram stops.
"The project has been implemented within the framework of the road map. Besides, we strive to respond to any criticism from Taganrog's citizens, accept requests and create new solutions," said Vasily Golubev.
On the same day, Vasily Golubev and Andrey Yatskin participated in tree-planting activities and inspected the ongoing works to install the
memorial sign "Trinity Fortress on Tagan-Rog Cape".
It should be noted that Andrey Yatskin visited Taganrog several times in 2021 -
