October 26, 2022: Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip to the city. He took part in a meeting on the
municipal revitalization program. The meeting was held on the premises of Taganrog Local Government and gathered Deputy Governor Alexander Skryabin, Rostov Oblast Minister of General and Professional Education Andrey Fateyev, Taganrog City Council President and City Executive Inna Titarenko, Taganrog City Manager Mikhail Solonitsin, heads of departments of Local Government and City Council.
There has been considerable discussion on preparations to
renovate Pushkinskaya Embankment. The project is to be approved of the state expert review board by mid-November 2022. All the works will be completed for the 325th anniversary of the city (September 2023).
The first stage (March - August 2023) of the renovation plan is limited to the central part of the embankment. The list of works includes tree-planting; electric lighting renewal; building lanes, leisure areas and children's playgrounds.
Concurrently, coast establishing program is under preparation. It will be finished in early 2023.
The urban revitalization comprises not only tourism-related objects. Thus, the ongoing construction of two pre-school educational institutions (on Mariupolskoye Highway and Admiral Cruys Street) was on the agenda. According to Rostov Oblast Minister of General and Professional Education Andrey Fateyev, the works on both sites are nearing completion.
