March 16, 2012 - Japanese business delegation headed by Chikahito Harada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia visited the city of Taganrog.
Mayor of Taganrog Vladimir Prasolov and President of
Taganrog Interregional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TICCI) Alexander Amerkhanov. During the meeting that was held at the Taganrog City Hall, Vladimir Alexandrovich briefly told the foreign guests about Taganrog, its
history, its spirit, natural advantages and social-economic development.
"We are open to cooperation. If during today's visit to our city you have any specific proposals for interaction, we would be ready to consider them" told Mayor Prasolov.
Ambassador began by congratulating the Mayor on his
election victory and
inauguration, which took place yesterday, thanking Vladimir Prasolov for warm reception and good organization of the program of delegation's visit to Taganrog. Chikahito Harada noted that it was Vladimir Prasolov who was charged with reception of the
Japanese delegation that visited Taganrog in October 2005.
"Representatives of Japanese businesses that came to the South of Russia for the first time would like to learn state of the things in the region" told the Ambassador. "This morning our delegation met with Governor Vasily Golubev and we learnt that Rostov Oblast government is committed to provide potential partners and investors with an attractive investment environment and attract foreign investors to Don Land. This draws Japanese stakeholders to further develop cooperation."
After the meeting at the city hall, the Japanese delegation visited the
Krasny Kotelshik and
TAGAZ factories, Taganrog College of Technologies (part of Southern Federal University) and Center for Nanotechnology at the Southern Federal University.
