August 4, 2006 - in May 2005, with support of Taganrog Local Government, team "Skif" of Taganrog State University of Radioengineering took part at the international expo "Mobile robots - 2005", which was held in Mantes-la-Jolie (France). Teams from France, South Korea, USA, Mexico and Russia also took part in the event. Team "Skif" took the first place in one of the competitions.

Friendly relations have been established between the Taganrog State University of Radioengineering and Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Mantes en Yvelines. Mayor of Mantes-la-Jolie decided to arrange the new expo to be held in 2007. In March 2006 in Moscow was held international expo "Arkhimed" and fair "Robots for people", where the Taganrog University management met with representatives of Institut Universitaire de Technologie from Mantes-la-Jolie. Both parties expressed their will to expand the cooperation and exchange between the two universities as well as development of economic and culture cooperation between Taganrog and Mantes la Jolie.

August 3, 2006 the delegation of the French university, represented by Director Mr. Jean-Charles Cadiou and his deputy Mr. Fouzi Chikhi arrived to Taganrog to sign a cooperation agreement between universities. August 4, 2006 - within the framework of the visit was held the meeting of the French delegation with the Vice-Mayor of Taganrog, Mrs. Yelizaveta Lipovenko. The parties discussed the prospects of developing mutual relations and the plans of establishing partner city relationships between the cities of Taganrog and Mantes-la-Jolie.
