September 6, 2021: 2020 Summer Paralympic Games were held in Tokyo on August 24 - September 5, 2021. Shortly after winning his bronze medal in the finals of the swimming men's 100m butterfly, Alexander Skaliukh from Taganrog won a gold medal as a member of the Russian Paralympic Committee's swimming team, that came first in 4x100 medley relay.


Australia and Italy finished second and third respectively.

It was the ninth medal won by Rostov Oblast's Paralymians at 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo.
