October 8, 2012: Mayor Vladimir Prasolov met with representatives of EDF (Electricité de France) and EDF Fenice - a European leader in energy supply and environmental services with a full range of integrated, customized solutions. Among the participants of the meeting were: Mr. Pascal Gay, Executive Director of EDF Fenice; Mr. Wolfgang Wille, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Leipzig and Independent Director of TEPLOENERGO; Loïc Capéran, Director General of POWEO Group; Eva Wille, ERGO Versicherung; ; Marc Boudier, Executive Vice-President of EDF, Mr. Vasily Vysokov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Center-Invest Bank; Valentin Moiseenko, Deputy Mayor ; Konstantin Savenko, Chief of Taganrog Economic Development Dept., Alexander Mirgorodskiy, Taganrog Foreign Relations Officer; and Gennady Dvoryaninov, Director General of heat-and-power engineering company TEPLOENERGO.
The work group of foreign top managers came to Taganrog to evaluate the investment potential into public energy sector of Rostov Oblast. The main topic of the discussion was the present condition and future prospects of energy sector development, particularly in the area of housing and communal services.
"Historically Taganrog's heat supply network has been forming along the low-rent housing formerly owned by large industrial enterprises", explained Mayor Vladimir Prasolov to foreign guests, - "Up to date the heat generating unit belonging to factories are the main providers of heat. Though the people are not always satisfied with their work due to wear of heat supply networks".
"Some neighborhoods of Taganrog are connected to one large heat generating unit with its network extending for several miles", told Mayor Prasolov, - "If the heat supply of housing can be provided by modular heat generating units, this would help to minimize losses, increasing power efficiency, which would in turn reflect on the peoples' heating bills".
"As for power efficiency, we already have experience in modernizing the equipments of the Russian automobile manufacturer AvtoVAZ", told Mr. Pascal Gay, Executive Director of EDF Fenice, - "Thanks to our work, the enterprise's total energy saving volume reached 20 percent".
"Taganrog needs a modernized heat supply system", summed up Vladimir Prasolov, - "with that in mind, a partnership with a leading energy company would benefit the city of Taganrog, making it power efficient".
