The leading Russian producer of boiler equipment celebrated its 120th anniversary

October 2, 2016: The leading boiler equipment producer in Russia - The Taganrog Krasny Kotelshchik boiler factory, a member of Power Machines group of companies and "EnergoMashinostroitelny Alliance" (PJSC "EMAlliance") - celebrated the 120th anniversary of its foundation. A small joint-stock enterprise was charted on the map of Taganrog in the end of 19th century, and soon became an essential part in the national power plant program.

It was not by occasion that the enterprise was founded in Taganrog. The proximity of the sea and the coal-mining and industrial region of Donbas, the railway communication with the central part of the country and the Caucasus, skilled manpower - all these factors played a crucial role when selecting the site for construction of the boiler plant.

"The 120 years-old plant, Krasny Kotelshchik, is however a modern Russian enterprise, ready to offer its customers products of the highest level," told Power Machines CEO Mr. Roman Filippov. "Its advantages are: constant production modernization, continuous search for new solutions in the field of boiler construction and, of course, a unique team of engineers with rich experience and skilled workers".

Dozens of major construction and reconstruction projects of the most important energy facilities in Russia are implemented successfully thanks to the professionalism of Taganrog boilermakers. In 2016, the first Russian boiler with circulating fluidized bed (CFB) for supercritical steam parameters of joint production of Krasny Kotelshchik and the Finnish division of Amec Foster Wheeler was put into operation at Power Unit No. 9 of Novocherkasskaya GRES.

Products manufactured by Krasny Kotelshchik are well-known both in Russia and worldwide. At present, specialists of the Taganrog enterprise are working on several major international projects, including equipment production for Barh thermal power plant (India) and Long Phu 1 TPP (Vietnam).

"Our company has the experience and the fame, as well as the past, the present and the future. Every page of Krasny Kotelshchik history is written by outstanding personalities - designers, production workers, workers for whom work for the benefit and prosperity of the company is a matter of life," emphasized Mr. Alexander Popov, Krasny Kotelshchik's director general.

September 27, 2016 Power Machines CEO Alexander Popov met the press to discuss the results, plans, and business strategy in connection with the 120th anniversary of the factory. The company's revenue for the 1st half of 2016 amounted to 7.6 billion rubles, a 32%-growth comparing with the same period in 2015. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization) reached 976.1 million rubles. The net profit equalled 364.4 million rubles. The key financial figures showed strong growth, resulting in high production load. Today this load is over 100%. The boilermakers' purpose is to produce about 16 thousand tons of product, while completing all the projects efficiently and on time.

Special attention was paid to Vietnamese Long Phu 1 TPP. This is one of the most important contracts in the company's portfolio of orders. The project will last four years, the start of the first power unit is scheduled for October 2019, the second unit in February 2020.

The Indian thermal power plant Barh is also among the strategic projects. It is planned to install at the plant three once-through steam boilers manufactured by Krasny Kotelshchik for supercritical steam parameters. The height of each boiler will exceed 100 meters. The equipment will operate with three power units, each with capacity of 660 MW. Nizhnekamskaya CHPP-2 is also a project of exceptional importance, the successful execution of which will allow the company to get the reference for oil-gas boilers which are designed to burn petroleum coke. The orders for nuclear power plants - Balakovskaya NPP, Kalininskaya NPP, Byelorussian NPP, Leningradskaya NPP-2, Kudankulam (India) NPP - also have a significant place in the production plan.

According to the results of the 1st half-year of 2016, the plant's portfolio of orders reached 41.8 billion rubles. The company's strategic task is to strengthen its positions in the traditional markets and expand its presence in developing countries. As a part of Power Machines group, Krasny Kotelshchik intends to expand to the markets of Vietnam, Iran, India, Pakistan, Africa, Latin America, South and South-East Asia.
