December 7, 2022: the concert on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of
Taganrog Municipal Chamber Choir "Lik" was held at "Festivalny" Community Center on December 4.
The extensive repertoire of the choir left no one indifferent. "Lik" together with Rostov Concert Orchestra of Wind Instruments named after Vladimir Yezhdik and Taganrog Municipal Choir of Boys presented Carl Orff's cantata "Carmina Burana" and some other compositions. Rostov Ensemble of Russian Folk Instruments "Donets" and individual soloists of Rostov State Musical Theater and Taganrog Municipal Jazz Orchestra performed on the stage of "Festivalny" as well.
The president of "Forum Russische Kultur Gütersloh" Dr. Günter Bönig congratulated "Lik" through Foreign Relations Department of Taganrog Local Government. In his letter, Dr. Bönig recalled the first concert of the choir he went to during the first visit of "Forum Russische Kultur Gütersloh" back in
2009. Dr. Bönig also noted the
performance of "Lik" in St Mary Church of Gütersloh, given on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of "Forum". In conclusion, Dr. Bönig wished the choir many happy returns and further success both in music and top-level humanitarian cooperation.
The first international concert of Taganrog Municipal Chamber Choir "Lik" was held in
Badenweiler, Germany in 2001. Three years later, "Lik" performed there, commemorating the 100th anniversary of
Anton Chekhov's death, and in
Lüdenscheid, which is another Taganrog's sister city. Since then, the choir gave multiple concerts in
Germany and
France. "Lik" also took part in the
International Choral Festival, held in Hungary.
