Beriev's amphibious aircraft Be-200ES participated in the flying displays and performed water drops at this year's Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France. The amphibian was showcases at the most prestigious European air show 20 years after it was revealed for the first time. Russia resumed the participation of its aircraft in the flying displays after a break of six years.
During the Paris Air Show, the company held meetings and concluded an additional
agreement with Asesorias CBP Ltda. for delivery of two more planes to Chile.
In 2010 Be-200ES - the export version of the plane was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The BE-200 is a unique Russian amphibious aircraft that is well-suited for firefighting missions. It can land on water and scoop up thousands of gallons of water into its hull and then drop its load onto a wildfire in 18 seconds. These amphibians are used both for suppression of the natural fires, and for expeditious transfer of airmobile groups of rescuers to the place of emergency, delivery of humanitarian aid, crash equipment and equipment, patrol and monitoring of a situation. The plane can be reconfigured for search-and-rescue or passenger flying.
