July 18, 2012: The International Theater Festival "In the Homeland of Anton Chekhov" is to be held on stage of the historic
Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater on September 14-23, 2012. The tradition of the festival goes back to 1980, and received an international status in 1993. In this short period of time, theater companies and artists from Russia, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, Georgia, Croatia, Ukraine and Great Britain have participated in the event.
In 2012, theater companies from Yaroslav, Tambov, Tula, Penza, Taganrog, and Omsk will be performing on the stage of the Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater. Among the guests of the festival is the A.B.I.T. Academy (Armata Brancaleone International Theater Academy) from Massa, Italy.
We hope that the audience will give the guests of the festival a very warm welcome and will get unforgettable impressions.
