Taganrog athletes won two medals at 2016 ICF Junior & Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships

August 5, 2016: athletes from 60 countries came to compete at 2016 ICF Junior & Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in the city of Minsk, Belarus.

Two athletes from Taganrog participated in the competition as part of Team Russia: Maxim Spesivtsev and Oleg Gusev, both trainees of Children's and Youth Sports School Number 3 of Olympic Reserve and Merited Master of Sport of the USSR Mr. Anatoly Tishenko - head coach of the Youth Team of Russia.

In Minsk Maxim Spesivtsev was the third in K2 Under 23 Men 1000 m, and Oleg Gusev won the silver medal in K1 U23 Men 200 m.

The successful performance at 2016 ICF Junior & Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships was preceded by victories at 2016 ECA Canoe Sprint European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where Taganrog athletes won three gold medals.
