April 3, 2012: Within the framework of the tourism workshop held at the Taganrog city hall, Mikhail Goncharov, Vice-Director of the
Beriev Aircraft Company announced the airport's plans for 2012.
The Taganrong Yuzhny Airport, which
started its work in December 2009 is now planning to reopen regular flights to Moscow after being closed for a reconstruction project. New flights schedule was jointly arranged by
Beriev Aircraft Company and Yamal Airlines.
Starting April 27, Yamal Airlines will be offering 6 weekly flights (every day except Saturday) on board Bombardier CRJ-200 (50 seats) to Moscow's Domodedovo airport. The comfortable high-speed electric train Aeroexpress takes approximately 40 minutes to reach downtown Moscow leaving for/arriving to Paveletsky Train Station every 30 minutes.
The flight YC-701 from Domodedovo airport in Moscow on odd days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) is scheduled for 5:10PM, arriving at Taganrog Yuzhniy Airport at 6:30PM. Flights from Taganrog to Moscow (YC-702) on odd days only depart at 7:30PM arriving to Domodedovo at 9:05PM. On even days of the week except Saturday (Tuesday and Thursday) the flight from Domodedovo is scheduled for 9:00AM arriving in Taganrog Yuzhniy at 10:30AM and from Taganrog departing at 11:30AM arriving to Domodedovo at 1:05PM.
The are plans to extend the frequency and geography of flights starting July 2012.
