April 6, 2020: according to the latest information from Taganrog Health Department, the epidemiological situation in Taganrog as of April 6, 2020 is assessed as stable.
The stay-at-home order, which was announced on March 30 by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev in response to the COVID-19 outbreak
has been extended with an additional set of measures on April 5.
Among the new restrictions are: planned hospital admissions for programmed treatments and regular visits to outpatient clinics and ambulant clinics have been temporarily stopped. An exception to this requirement applies when the delay presents a life threat to the patient. Female counselling centres have resumed their work since April 6. It is now prohibited to conduct religious services outside of religious buildings and structures.
The stay-at-home requirement has been extended through May 1. Use of all public recreation areas and facilities is now prohibited. Taganrog and all the cities in Rostov Oblast have been placed under lockdown: residents must stay indoors unless they are going out for essential needs such as to seek emergency medical care, to obtain food from the nearest shop, walk pets within 100 meters from home, take out the garbage or go to work. It is allowed to visit the relatives aged 65 and over, and to deliver them food and medical supplies. Essential businesses that continue to operate facilities have scaled down operations and received special permits from the local government for their employees allowing to visit work during the lockdown period.
As of April 6, there have been 9 cases of COVID-19 in Rostov Oblast region. 235 persons stay under regular medical supervision in the city of Taganrog, including 22 children. No confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Taganrog. Citywide toll-free 24-hour hotline number is 8 800-201-33-40.
Taganrog Local Government has released public announcements urging residents to stay home with family members to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable in this community.
