August 24, 2022: Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev announced that wearing face masks will be mandatory once again in the near future. It is due to an anticipated deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the region.
"Unfortunately, the outbreak of COVID-19 has already been apparent and will become even more alarming. This means changes to some of our social habits are needed. It is recommended by Rospotrebnadzor that we should wear face masks. Nobody wants to get through all severe COVID-19 restrictions over again. With that in mind, let us follow the present-day recommendations", wrote Vasily Golubev in his Telegram channel.
In late June 2022 the
COVID-19 high response level and all restrictions were lifted in the region.
As of August 24, 393805 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast, and 377206 people have already recovered.
