January 26, 2022: as stated by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev, the region is prepared to increase the number of beds of inpatient medical care facilities if necessary (from 3000 to almost 6000). It was stated in an interview to Russia-24 TV channel.
Vasily Golubev also announced that the regional government had agreed with Rostov State Medical University on the engagement of an increasing number of medical students as volunteers.
"The task is to ensure minimal or preferably zero disease outbreaks within any groups including families. The situation is still being monitored. Both medical establishments and local authorities have to mobilize additional resources", stressed the governor.
As of January 26, 206215 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast, and 183151 people have already recovered.
