COVID-19 City of Taganrog's Mitigation And Response #24

July 7, 2020: the stay-at-home order, which was announced on March 30 by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, is lo longer in force. However, Taganrog Local Government has released several public announcements urging residents above 65 years of age to stay home to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable in this community, and to consider social distancing of at least 1.5 meters/5 feet.

On May 1, 2020 Rostov Oblast Government and health officials announced a mandatory requirement for residents to wear face coverings or masks when out in public in light of the novel coronavirus pandemic. On May 25 non-food stores resumed their work. Kindergarten services recommenced on Monday June 1, 2020.

On June 2, 2020 authorities in Rostov further eased lockdown restrictions, recommencing planned hospital and polyclinic admissions, trainings of regional teams and professional clubs, as well as sports competitions behind closed doors. Barbershops, salons, laundries, parlors, dry-cleaners, dental clinics, advertising agencies, recruiting firms, real-estate agencies, shops that sell autos and motor vehicles, performance groups' rehearsals and outdoor physical education classes and outdoor walks were allowed to reopen June 11. On June 22 Rostov Oblast authorities further lifted social restrictions by reopening public libraries, small non-food stores, open-air museums and fitness centers.

June 29 another set of restrictions has been lifted in Rostov Oblast by reopening parks, summer camps, sport groups, leisure centers, sanatoriums, camping sites, zoos and restaurants' outdoor dining areas.

Finally on July 3 Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev issued a decree ending more lockdown restrictions, reopening since July 6 hotels, public beaches, kindergartens and swimming pools, while maintaining social distancing and mask wearing.

As of July 7, 2020, 10256 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast region, and 7068 persons have already recovered. 83 people stay under regular medical supervision in the city of Taganrog. 209 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the city. 184 of these people have already recovered.
