September 2, 2021: according to the chief sanitary inspector of Rostov Oblast Yevgeny Kovalev, the region has passed the peak of the third COVID-19 wave.
"As for the intensity of epidemic processes, the situation has been stabilized, and there is the clear tendency of reducing morbidity", Yevgeny Kovalev stated.
Meanwhile, the state of things in the field of COVID-19 is still far from being healthy.
"New cases are registered in every city and district so the health service, including COVID-19 hospitals, is suffering from overload. Herewith, the morbidity slightly declined in comparison to previous weeks ", added the chief sanitary inspector.
As of last weekend, August 28-29, the number of Rostov Oblast residents who completed the second vaccination phase has exceeded 1 million 200 thousand people (more than 24.5 thousand in these two days).
As of September 2, 124890 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast, and 107851 people have already recovered.
