September 29, 2021: the
Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater will start its 195th season with "Peer Gynt" on October 1.
Henrik Ibsen's "Peer Gynt" is not usually performed due to its complexity; even the world-known theater practitioner Konstantin Stanislavski never took the risk of staging this play.
"Peer Gynt" in its modern version is at the intersection between choreography, vocals, and dramaturgy. The upcoming version was written by the theater director and choreographer Anna Feketa. The art director is Alexander Nedelko. The main role will be played by Maxim Ushmayev, who will be making his first appearance on
Taganrog stage.
