Taganrog athletes win 3 medals for Team Russia at 2021 World Para Swimming European Open Championships

May 21, 2021: Taganrogers have secured three medals at World Para Swimming European Open Championships, which is being held at the Penteada Swimming Complex in Funchal, the capital of Madeira (Portugal) May 16-22, 2021. Over 400 athletes from 47 countries are participating in the competition. The number of the Russian swimmers exceeds 40.

Alexander_Skaliukh Athletes from Taganrog have made a significant contribution into medal count of Team Russia with the total of 11 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 12 bronze ones). Aleksandr Skaliuh (the 100m butterfly S9) and Elizaveta Barbatina (the 100m breaststroke) won silver medals. Artem Pavlenko won his bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke.
