September 29, 2014: The cooperation between the college in Taganrog and
Lüdenscheid's gymnasium started in 2001 when the first TGPI student went for one-year course. The department signed an agreement with Adolf-Reichwein-Gesamtschule to develop educational exchanges between students of the two cities. Since 2005 the cooperation between the schools was transformed into student exchanges from both ends.
In September 2014 fourteen students of Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College went to visit the sister city of
Lüdenscheid within the framework of international educational exchanges with Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule.
The program was very intense both in terms of practical training and local sightseeing. The German partner school organized a meeting with mayor Dieter Dzewas, traditional tours to the cities of Bonn, Cologne, and a trip to Europa Park in Dortmund.
Russian students participated in an antifascist rally and laid flowers to the monument in honor of Soviet prisoners of war who perished in German captivity. In winter 2015
Lüdenscheid will reciprocate with at least 15 school students and one teacher coming to visit the home city of
Anton Chekhov.
