Students from Taganrog visiting sister city Lüdenscheid, Germany.

September 11, 2015: The cooperation between the college in Taganrog and Lüdenscheid's gymnasium started in 2001 when the first TGPI student went for one-year course. The department signed an agreement with Adolf-Reichwein-Gesamtschule to develop educational exchanges between students of the two cities. Since 2005 the cooperation between the schools was transformed into student exchanges from both ends.

In August-September 2015, 10 students of the Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College visited the sister city of Lüdenscheid within the framework of international educational exchanges with Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule. The program was focused on researching the German educational system in North Rhine-Westphalia Land and learning methods of teaching German as a foreign language.

Students from Taganrog attended 225 lessons - mostly German, English and French courses - given by 29 Lüdenscheid teachers. In addition to this extensive educational program, the German partner school organized tours to the cities of Bonn, Cologne, Dortmund, Soest, Plettenberg and Erzberg, visits to a coalmine museum, indoor water park "AquaMagis" in Plettenberg, a medieval castle of Altena and science museum "Phänomenta". Host families provided additional trips to other German cities, Bundesliga football matches, Karl May festival, and even trips to Netherlands.

Buergermeister Dieter Dzewas told students about the history of the city and the long way to the establishment of partnership between Taganrog and Lüdenscheid. Despite the current political situation, Lüdenscheid's municipality and partner institutions are committed to continue cooperation with Russian colleges.

In January 2016 Lüdenscheid's Adolf-Reichwein-Gesamtschule will reciprocate with its own school students and one teacher coming to Taganrog for an intern program.
