Students of Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College visiting sister city Lüdenscheid, Germany.

September 20, 2019: students and teachers of Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College led by Dr. Victor Kulikov visited the sister city of Lüdenscheid. The trip was made within the framework of international educational exchanges with Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule. Traditionally, the program was focused on acquaintance with the German educational system in North Rhine-Westphalia Land and comparison with Russian system, participation in the educational workshops, methods of teaching German and English as a foreign language.

On September 11, 2019 Russian delegation was received by Lüdenscheid's bürgermeister Dieter Dzewas at the city hall. This occasion was used to with City Honor Needle by the Mayor of Lüdenscheid, Mr. Dieter Dzewas for his multiannual intensive efforts in the context of the German-Russian exchange. "As long as I will have the health, I'll continue this here" promised the Taganroger and thanked not only Dzewas for his support, but especially the host families. According to Dzewas, only a few non-Lüdenscheiders have received this award so far. Since 2003 there has been a close connection between Adolf Reichwein School and Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College in Lüdenscheid's Russian sister city Taganrog.

Every year after the summer holidays, Russian students who study German as a foreign language for teaching in Russia spend two weeks in Lüdenscheid. Traditionally, the accommodation is provided by host families of the students who completed their practical training in January in Taganrog.

The cooperation between the college in Taganrog and Lüdenscheid's gymnasium started in 2001 when the first TGPI student went for one-year course. The department signed an agreement with Adolf-Reichwein-Gesamtschule to develop educational exchanges between students of the two cities. Since 2005 the cooperation between the schools was transformed into student exchanges from both ends.
