Tomahawk Theater Company from Oxford, UK in Taganrog

May 16-19, 2010: The Taganrog Teachers College (TGPI) with support from the Taganrog Local Government organized the meeting of college and school students and English teachers with the Oxford-based theater company Tomahawk. During the visit the foreign artists held workshop classes on works of Anton Chekhov's contemporary Oscar Wilde. The special interest of British guests was for the 150th birth anniversary of Anton Chekhov widely celebrated in 2010.

The British artists who came to the city of Taganrog had an opportunity to discover the truly Chekhov spirit that comes with all his works, while the Russian students enjoyed the English language, the manners and the etiquette of the Victorian period. On their visit to the home city of Chekhov, the artists visited Chekhov sites in the downtown Taganrog, and met with students of the Teachers College.
