November 30, 2018: a videoconference between the mayor of the sister city of
Lüdenscheid Mr. Dieter Dzewas and the organizing committee of the festival
"German Days in Taganrog - 2018" and students of Taganrog Chekhov College was held to wrap up the activities carried out in November. The event took place in the Foreign languages department of the Chekhov library (Tchaikovsky-House).
Taganrog was represented by Dr. Galina Polenova - professor of German language at the Taganrog Chekhov College, Mrs. Lyudmila Sveshnikova, assistant of the president of the Taganrog College of Management and Economics, Mrs. Albina Ishchenko, representative of the "Lorelei" regional association of the German language teachers, Mrs. Olga Ryabtseva, professor of the Southern Federal University, Mrs. Yevgeniya Murashova, leading librarian of the Chekhov library and Mr. Dmitriy Kulichev, leading specialist at Taganrog Foreign Relations Office.
First Mr. Dzewas greeted the Taganrogers and read a speech dedicated to the "German Days". Mayor of
Lüdenscheid congratulated Taganrog on this important cultural and educational event and emphasized that the works of
Anton Chekhov are very popular both in Germany and Russia.
Dr. Polenova read the report about the "German Days". Mr. Dzewas congratulated the Taganrog College of Management and Economy on its 25-years foundation anniversary.
The visit of a delegation from
Lüdenscheid's Adolpf-Reichwein-School is expected in January 2019.
