February 15, 2024: Rostselmash, part of the company OOO Novoye Sodruzhestvo, officially introduced its new agricultural machines plant, which was set up on the basis of two defunct factories - Taganrog Combine-Harverster Plant and automotive assembly plant TagAZ.
Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev, the chairman of Novoye Sodruzhestvo Union Konstantin Babkin and Rostselmash's director general Valery Maltsev pressed the start button, thus kicking off the operation of the new plant.
"We are performing one fundamental task set by the president: ensuring the technological sovereignty of this country. Less than two years have passed since the start of the plant construction. About 2 billion rubles were invested in the works - federal funds, the company's funds, the money of the Russian Industry Foundation," said Governor Vasily Golubev.
"Today we are present at a historic event - the revival of agricultural machine building in Taganrog. Rostselmash is developing. We are building new production facilities and capturing new opportunities. In February, there will be launched new production of transmissions. In March, we plan to open a tractor plant in Rostov-on-Don. We are developing our model range. Now not only agricultural machinery is being developed and tested but also towed vehicles, road-building machinery," said Konstantin Babkin.
The foundation stone of the
new plant was laid in Taganrog on May 13, 2022. The agreement for its construction was
signed at "INNOPROM-2022" forum. The construction extended to 75 hectares of the grounds of the former Taganrog Combine-Harverster Plant and TagAZ.
The construction project was divided into several stages. At the first stage, the ex-TagAZ buildings were reconstructed; basic equipment, such as machine tools and overhead and console cranes, was purchased and installed. The second stage involves the construction of a foundry, and the third one provides designing of a test site for harvesters and tractors.
It is planned to bring the plant to full capacity in 2025. Then the enterprise will be able to produce 5,000 units of equipment per year.
