November 14, 2023: according to academician Igor Kalyaev, who is one of the top figures at the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the development of new supercomputer systems meant to upgrade neural networks is underway in Taganrog.
"They are much superior in their characteristics to foreign supercomputer systems when it comes to deal with the challenges of the day, such as machine learning of deep neural networks," commented Igor Kalyaev.
He also observed that another promising approach to engineering computer systems is the research carried out at the National Center for Physics and Mathematics. This work is aimed at creating new photon accelerators, which are expected to be produced by the end of 2025.
"It is noteworthy that process lines with low technology standards (120 nanometers or even larger) are sufficient to produce such photon accelerators. It opens up the possibility of launching their production in Russia," said the scientist.
