Participants of the grand opening ceremony paid a minute's tribute of silence to the memory of Great Patriotic War fallen heroes.

The Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova noted: "The museum complex impresses with its size and thoughtful displays using interactive solutions. I am sure that this place will become a center of attraction for hundreds of thousands of people who honor the memory of soldiers and civilians who died during the Great Patriotic War".

Governor Golubev reminded of historical events in Russian history: "The Mius Front - a well fortified German defense line was breached through here 77 years ago. Gallant fighters of the Red Army (especially soldiers of 130th and 416th Azerbaijani rifle divisions) put an end to the history of the occupation of Rostov Oblast, breaking through the line of the fascists. Military historians compare the inaccessibility of the Mius Front with the Mannerheim and Maginot lines, and the importance of this breakthrough with the one at Kursk Bulge". He also reminded about the role played by Soviet Union in the allied victory over fascism: "Today the Peoples' Museum of Military History "Sambek Heights" takes a stand against unconsciousness. This is our response to historical oblivion and an expression of grateful memory of courageous people who changed the world. We will remember everyone who died in battles and occupation, bringing the Great Victory closer"
