September 20, 2025: the European Open Student Sambo Cup was held in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. Students of Taganrog Teachers' College won two gold and four silver medals at the competition.


The tournament organized by FIAS (International Sambo Federation) brought together the best athletes from nine countries. The competition was held under the motto "Sambo - the universal language of international diplomacy"

Ilya Sanyuk and Andrey Kandakov won gold medals in the weight classes 79 and 88 kilograms respectively. Shakhriyar Karayev (58 kg. weight class), Nikolay Galochkin (71 kg), Arseny Glushenko (98 kg.) and Vladislav Prokudin (over 98 kg) won silver medals. The Taganrog team is coached by Konstantin Chaikin.
