April 30, 2016: students of Taganrog College of Management and Economics participated in a weekly study abroad project "Council of Europe & European Court of Human Rights: Theory and Practice" in Strasbourg, France.
The program supported by Taganrog Local Government and Alliance Française was established by Mrs. Veronica Romanenko, Associate Professor and Master of Laws, and consists of both theoretical and practical parts. Students started by attending a course of lectures dedicated to history of the Council of Europe, its structure, procedures for individual court applications and organisation's aims and achievements.
The first part was followed by practicals in France on April 17-23, 2016. Within the framework of the program, course participants attended a public hearing on the case of "Khamtokhu and Aksenchik v. Russia" at the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, visited the Palace of Europe - the building in Strasbourg serving as the seat of the Council of Europe, and the European Parliament.
On April 21, 2016 the delegation of Taganrog College of Management and Economics went to the city of Tours to visit Institut de Touraine and meet with its board of directors. Veronica Romanenko exchanged cooperation ideas with Mr. Christophe Tissot and Mrs. Veronique Bertrand - it could start with mutual exchanges of lectors and students, video conferences and scientific papers published in each institution's journals.
