Ukrainian Tochka-U Missile Downed Over Taganrog

March 2, 2022: yesterday a Ukrainian Tochka-U missile was shot down on the territory of Taganrog military airfield by Russian air defense system. Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed there were no casualties and no damage.

"It was aimed at the airfield and was downed by Pantsir anti-aircraft missile system. Its debris fell in the are of Taganrog's Tricentennial Park", - confirmed a well-placed source of DON24.

tochka-u_downed_over_taganrog Tochka-U missile was launched from the city of Mariupol, Ukraine. Earlier several city residents shared their video footage of the explosion on social networks.

February 24 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. It is carried out to stop the war that had continued in Donbass area for the last eight years, to demilitarize Ukraine, to liberate Ukraine from neo-Nazis, and to protect the people in the eastern part of the country suffering from genocide by Kiev-backed militias.

Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian forces do not target Ukrainian cities, adding that they eliminate military infrastructure with precision strikes.
