October 11, 2024: Taganrog artist Yekaterina Ryazanova (also known as Katya Coil) is taking part in the upcoming exhibition "CrossingBorders: WE ARE ALL IMMIGRANTS," organized by the international art community GAP (Global Art Project).
GLOBAL ART PROJECT is an international multimedia collaborative collective with over 80 members operating 17 different countries. The first exhibition "We Are All Immigrants" is to open at Westbeth Gallery, New York City on October 24 and will be open to public until November 10, 2024. It will be followed by an exhibition at 55 Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina November 16, 2024 - January 4, 2025.
The title of Yekaterina's artwork to be featured at the event is "From Where the Motherland Begins" (70 x 50 cm, canvas, acrylic paint, collage).
Yekaterina Ryazanova studied drawing in an art school of the Russian city of Perm. As explained by the artist, she prefers to work in the field of metamodernism, which is a mix of different "cultural logics" such as modern idealism and postmodern skepticism, modern sincerity and postmodern irony, and other seemingly opposed concepts.
